Overview
Lactose free dairy products are becoming more and more popular in today’s climate due to the shift in mindset around consuming milk-based products. LACTAID® is the name most associated with dairy-free products. As someone who is lactose intolerant, I felt a strong personal connection to the brand, but felt they were falling behind the times when it came to brand presence and packaging.
After careful consideration and research, I’ve created a rebrand that is worth the dairy aisle and stands out from its competitors.

Investigating the current brand.
To best understand what was needed of a lactose-free dairy brand, I explored several logos and brand examples from across the web. Taking the language and personality expected of the brand I narrowed down a handful of options to really deep-dive and grasp what makes them successful. With that I had a much better understanding of the needs and problems, and what design choices should be made.
PACKAGING
Friendly, Attractive, Delicious.
For Lactaid, their product packaging is almost as important as the product itself. The goal here was to find a way to keep the packaging consistent across different food types, while keeping that playful nature. I utilized a hand-drawn pattern on all packages to keep the containers lighthearted, but not childish.
